Kia ora, I’m Lynda I’m a tangata tiriti (mainly Scottish), māmā of two boys, and PhD student researching suicide. When I was 27 (I’m 44 now) I overdosed and jumped 20m off an overbridge onto a motorway and miraculously survived. I spent over seven months in hospital and have had 42 surgeries since that time and had to learn to walk twice. It’s been a journey alright. Now, I’m grateful to be living happy, free from medications, and enjoying life on the other side of pain.
Before the bridge, I had a terrible experience with the Mental health system and that’s made me passionate about finding things that could have worked for me before I got to the place I did. I believe Havening is one of those things. It’s safer and more effective than antidepressants and antipsychotics (my research area) and can often work wonders in just one session. Feel free to get in touch if you’d like to find out more.
